Network Vision Inc., a member of the Open Device Vendor Association (ODVA), developed Auto-IP to support the ODVA initiative of IP addressing. Auto-IP is compatible with industrial switches from Cisco, Hirschmann, and Moxa, to name a few.

Typically, every industrial Ethernet enabled device needs a fixed IP address before it can be installed. This process usually requires vendor dependant software tools, cables and a PC.

Auto-IP will configure your device for you with an easy "plug and play" mechanism. Simply plug in the Ethernet cable and power up the device. Every time and any time you need to replace or install a new device it will be up and running in a fraction of the time previously required. Auto-IP works in cooperation with managed switches from any supplier, thus providing a truly open solution.
